Malcolm Trobe
CBE is the former Deputy General Secretary for the Association of School and
College Leaders (ASCL). He worked full-time for ASCL from September 2008 until
August 2018 including a fifteen-month period as Interim General Secretary in
2016/17. Malcolm was the head teacher of Malmesbury School in Wiltshire for 17
years.
He now works as
an independent Educational Consultant specialising in leadership and
governance, strategic planning, and curriculum. Malcolm is the programme
director for the ASCL co-ordinated Executive Leadership Consortium NPQ
Executive Leadership programme. Malcolm chaired the Review Group on Headteacher
Standards for the DfE and is on the DfE Review Group for all National
Professional Qualifications and the Early Career Framework. He has significant
non-executive experience having previously served on the Advisory Board of the
EFA, the Board of the YPLA, the National Council of the LSC and the Board of
Future Leaders.
