David Laws

David Laws is Executive Chairman of the Education Policy Institute, a politically independent quantitative research institute, which seeks to improve education policy making and practice in England, through rigorous and high quality research and analysis. David is also Executive Chairman of the Education Partnerships Group, which works with governments in some of the poorest countries of the world to improve education outcomes. David was a Cabinet Minister during the 2010-2015 Coalition Government, as well as one of the negotiating team members who produced the Coalition Agreement. Between 2012 and 2015 he was Schools Minister – responsible for all school funding issues, the Pupil Premium, teacher policy and school accountability.
