Dominic Herrington is the National Schools
Commissioner (NSC). He was appointed on 23 April 2019, after holding the
position on an interim basis since September 2018.
Prior to his appointment,
Dominic was the Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) for South East England and
South London from July 2014 to September 2018.
His previous roles include:
- Director
of the Academies Group at the Department for Education
- working on
a range of policies and programmes at DfE in school improvement, vocational
education, children’s services and education legislation
- working at
Warwick and Birmingham Universities
Dominic is also a trustee of
the Brilliant Club, a national charity that supports disadvantaged children to
gain access to the most competitive universities.
